Roland R. Wauer has specialized in Paediatrics (1972) and Neonatology (1984) at the world’s renowned Pediatric Clinic / Neonatal department (Director Inge Rapoport) Medical Faculty (Charité). He has been worked there as senior doctor (1976), lecturer (Dozent, 1984), Professor (1993) and director of the clinic of Neonatology (2001). He has defended his PhD-Thesis (Dr. med.) in 1969 about a topic of experimental Pharmacology and a second PhD (Dr.med.habil.) in 1982 about the topic “prevention and therapy of neonatal RDS”. He was the speaker and director of national research projects (1975-1990; 1991-2001).
